  • 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, onion, bell pepper, red bell pepper, cilantro, parsley, oregano, basil, olive oil, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  5. Drop the batter by rounded tablespoons onto the hot oil and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain the cooked patties on paper towels and serve with your favorite toppings, such as salsa, guacamole, or cheese.

Tips:

  • For a more flavorful crust, add 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano or thyme to the dry ingredients.
